Mental capacity

The Mental Capacity Act 2005 is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom applying to England and Wales. Its purpose is to offer a legal framework for acting OR makingdecisions on behalf of adults who may lack capacityto understand situations.
The course will look at the five key principles of the Mental Capacity Act to ensure you have knowledge of how and when to make a decision on someone’s behalf.
The connection between the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty (DoLS) safeguards will also be covered.
